Softfloor Pass The Road Test At Mercedes Benz World Little Learners Attraction
As part of their popular public facility, Mercedes Benz World set about creating an indoor driving zone for children to practise their driving skills whilst learning some of the basics of motoring.
During the development, one of the most important aspects of the Little Learners experience was the need to create a vibrant yet safe environment for children. As well as some impressive graphic design, wall artwork and acoustic ceiling, the developers required a flooring solution that would fit in with the theme and provide safe protection against accidents and falls.
Look both ways and step forward the interlocking foam mat from Softfloor UK. The development team sought to create a road way featuring many of the common elements seen in the real world. They used a combination of 50cm and 30cm classic EVA foam tiles form Softfloor UK to create roadways, junctions, parking zones even a zebra crossing! As well as using predominately 50cm black tiles for the majority of the road, Softfloor also supplied 30cm tiles to build red and white cubes for crash buffers and green for the open spaces to create a fun looking environment.

Mercedes Benz World is a free attraction, with three floors of displays and exhibits showing the 125 year heritage of the manufacturer. Visitors can see a collection of Formula 1 cars powered by Mercedes Benz as well as iconic and modern vehicles. Little learners is a specially developed indoor road course that gives children the opportunity to drive miniature battery powered versions of the Mercedes Benz SL and SLK roadsters.
Classic EVA puzzle mats are 50cm by 50cm and 14mm thick and provide excellent cushioned support and fall protection for hard floors. They can be laid quickly and cleaned easily, and have a strong interlocking design to improve slip-resistance.
